What happens when I contact My CWA?

If you call us, we’ll listen to you and arrange a face-to-face meeting to talk through your situation in a bit more detail. If you fill in the contact form or email us, we’ll reply to arrange a safe time for us to speak, so we can find out more about your circumstances.

We’ll talk about the difficulties you’re facing and we’ll carry out a risk assessment to help understand the threats you’re facing. We’ll then help you develop a plan tailored to your own specific circumstances.

We won’t ever tell you what to do. We’ll arm you with information so you can make your own decisions about what to do next. And we’ll be there to support you every step of the way.

One-to-one support

We offer a one-to-one support service providing aftercare to families affected by domestic abuse. You’ll get practical and emotional support to enable you to maintain your tenancy and lead an independent life free from fear.

How long will you support me for?

While there are lots of shared experiences along the road to recovery, there can also be many differences. Everyone’s experience is unique. So we’ll support you for as long as you need us to. Sometimes we help people once in a crisis. And sometimes we support people over many years as they heal. We’ll be there for as long as it takes for you to have the confidence to live independently.
