Fundraising is absolutely essential to the success of My CWA. There are loads of ways you can raise money towards our continued efforts to provide a whole family service supporting those affected by domestic abuse.

Fundraising alone

From coffee mornings and BBQs, to pub quizzes and comedy nights, there are plenty of events you could host that are sure to go down well with family and friends. Or perhaps you could take on a sponsorship challenge – give up your favourite treat for a month or shave your head – and donate the proceeds? Some of our supporters even request donations to My CWA instead of birthday gifts, which is lovely.

Fundraising with others

If you’re part of a club or society – or if you’d like to involve your school, university or workplace – there are lots of ways you can fundraise on behalf of My CWA. You could appoint My CWA as your nominated charity and run several different fundraising events throughout the year. You could host a team dinner or a charity ball. Or why not organise a dress down / fancy dress day? Sporting tournaments are also popular with large groups of fundraisers.

Work to your strengths

Make sure you choose something that suits your lifestyle, personality and interests – or something that will interest the group if it’s something you need wider participation in.

Love cake? Pop the kettle on and organise a massive tea party for everyone you know. Or how about a bake-off for a bit of friendly competition? A pub quiz is another great option if it’s competition you’re after. If something more active or outdoorsy is more up your street, then run, walk, cycle, dance, abseil, host a sporting tournament… do whatever it is you love to do in the name of My CWA. The possibilities are endless!

We need you

Without you – out there in the community, talking about our work, generating awareness, having discussions within the workplace and being open about the issues faced by people suffering from domestic abuse – we simply wouldn’t be able to do what we do. So thank you.
