Spreading Gifts and Hope to Local Families

Woman sitting beside a Christmas tree with her head in her hands.

While many of us are wrapped in the warmth of festive cheer, Christmas can be an incredibly difficult time for families affected by domestic abuse.

It often feels like the world is celebrating inside a bubble of joy, while others are facing heartbreak — recent separation, financial abuse or the harsh reality of a cost-of-living crisis that makes even the basics feel out of reach.

At My CWA, we offer more than just gifts — we provide practical support, emotional care and a glimmer of hope during the festive season. From essential items and safety planning to a friendly face and someone to talk to, we’re here to remind people they’re not alone.

The people we help could be your friends, relatives, neighbours or co-workers. Parents you pass on the school run. The checkout assistant at your local shop. The dog walker in your local park.

Every gift we give is a reminder that someone cares and hope is still possible.

Our Santa’s Grotto

Every year, thanks to your generosity, we organise Santa's grottos in Crewe & Macclesfield for local children. We also give specially selected gifts to adult survivors so they know they’re not alone. We rely on generous donations from local people and companies to help make this happen – we couldn’t do it without you.

How you can help

Would you like to make a real difference to local families this Christmas? You can get involved by donating money online, dropping off new, unwrapped gifts at our support centres or ordering directly from our Amazon wish list.

Every contribution, big or small, helps spread joy and support to those who need it most.

Volunteer

Help us organise gift donations and ensure our Santa’s grottos run smoothly.

*Important note: We appreciate donations of nearly-new items for resale at our Macclesfield charity store, but when it comes to Santa and helping us sprinkle some Christmas magic, please ensure your gifts are boxed/brand new – and NOT gift wrapped (so we can allocate according to age). Thank you for your kindness and understanding.

Want to boost your donations and make an extraordinary difference throughout your community?

Taking part is so easy:

  • Set up a collection point (supermarkets often use trolleys but you could use a table or a large box).

  • Promote the My CWA gift appeal so people know what to donate (see the My CWA Amazon Christmas Wish List) – and where they can leave it.

    We’re accepting:

    • Toys for children of all ages

    • Gifts for tweens & teens

    • Gifts for adult survivors

  • Watch the presents stack up, knowing that local families will benefit from your generosity.

  • End your collection on the 1st week of December and drop your donations into our Crewe support centre by 5th December 2025 so our elves can get busy sorting

  • Don’t forget to take photos of your fabulous donations and tag us on social media @mycwacharity

Giving Hope, Not Just Gifts

Supporting My CWA is a great way to give back to your local community at this time of year.

But it’s not just about knowing you’ve done something good. It’s knowing that you’re making a real difference. It’s about leaving a mark on someone’s life, giving hope to local families and uplifting people’s spirits when they feel like the world’s against them.

It’s about lighting up a child’s face when they receive their very own gift from Santa. It’s the happy tears of a mother, treated with kindness and compassion—and given a little something for herself—after yet another year of hardship. For the people we support, simply knowing they aren’t alone means everything.

Thank you so much for supporting this year’s My CWA Christmas gift appeal – we really couldn’t do it without you.
